We have several users that receive this error on multiple commands.  If you keep trying the command it will work after a couple of tries.

We have updated our license drivers and whitelisted the following files from antivirus, ????hasplms.exe, hasplmv.exe.

I'd be interested in any information that would help us resolve this.

Hey Mike,

Is this license hosted on a server?

The most common cause of this error is due to the drivers being out of date on the server, workstation, or both. If you do have a server can you confirm if you've updated both server and workstations to the 8.21 runtime installer below.

https://supportportal.gemalto.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sys_kb_id=61fb0ee1dbd2e78cfe0aff3dbf9619ab&sysparm_article=KB0018320

Let me know if this is the case and the update resolves the issue.

Shane,  the license is on a server and we have updated both the machine and servers with 8.21.56409.60000 a few weeks ago and are still having an issue.

Hey Mike,

I've found about 10 different cases and this was the resolution to all of them. There is another way to uninstall the drivers and reinstall via the command prompt.

Try following the steps in the attached document to use the command prompt to completely uninstall the drivers and reinstall. This ensures all components are completely removed instead of just updating via the other method. The link to the drivers says 8.11 as it's the older version but it will take you to the correct page to download the 8.21 command line so you can disregard the 8.11 reference in the doc. Make sure to run this on both server and workstation.

Let me know if you've already used the purge method and I'll put in a support case to have this looked into further.

Shane Lyons
