Creating a Cut/Fill Map and Export It to Google Earth

Help...
I've heard there is a way to export out a cut/fill map to Google Earth and have it actually show up! I have had no luck doing this. Simply exporting out the surface as a KML is not the right way to do it. Any help would be appreciated.

Try to use: CAD -> Capture

It will create a KML file that overlays a snip of your current TBC view.

You can use plotbox but do no try to rotate it, as yet again, this function does not work in 100% of the cases.

i have asked this very question and it is being worked on.   For now,  the best way is to sign in to your trimble ID and open the "google earth background map" inside TBC.   The plot , does not export the cut/fill map.  i have been looking for this for some time.  for estimating purposes our estimating group wants to see the cut/fill inside google earth and have been able to do this with Agtek.

Thank you both for your replies.  I'm disappointed that there is not an easier solution to this problem.
Francisco, I to have to get the help of a colleague that has a key for AGTEK to create a map of Cut/Fill information that I have created in TBC. I want to stop bothering him with these constant pleas for help. He is more than willing, but I'd like to have the functionality of doing it myself.  AGTEK does a great job of it as well.
Marian thank you for your idea. It actually worked, but... It brought in the black background as well. I suppose I could turn on the background map and export that background to "Google Earth" as well but AGTEK just looks better.
Hopefully they find an answer for this.  I look forward to the day when I can perform every task I need inside the TBC platform.  If you have any other suggestions please let me know.  Thanks again for the replies.

Hi Brandon, there is a somewhat simple solution for this. Use the "Capture Image" command (located all the way to the right of the CAD tab). Center the cut/fill map along with any relevant data you want visible in Google Earth in the middle of the screen. Save the image as a ".PNG" - you can do this by hitting the "..." next to File Name and changing the Save As Type to ".PNG". I use Very High Resolution personally but that's up to you. Save out the image and open it up - it's usually by default located inside the project folder and then inside another folder named "Snapshots", however you can save it out to wherever you like. As long as your project coordinate system is set and the location information of the project is correct, you will see that three files were generated by using the "Capture Image" command. One of the files is a "...png.kml". This will be an image file that is geolocated. Simply drag and drop this into Google Earth, give it a moment to update and you should see your cut/fill map along with any data that was in your captured image.

Its been so long that I used the capture image, so I gave it another look. I do not get why the image is rotated when you rotate the plotbox.  If that could be fixed,  that would help some.  unless I am doing something wrong.
