Works Manager, Site Works and .vcl Files

I am experiencing an issue with works manager. I have setup a number of devices successfully, but a device I set up recently has been giving me issues. When I update a design in TBC and publish to Works Manager this new device only downloads a .vcl file.

My issue with this is, the .vcl does not handle pipe networks created in AutoCAD. Traditionally, when I dump a pipe network directly into TBC and add it to a design, it creates a .dxf file. My pipe network is converted to linestrings as a dxf, adding all the structures as points. So when this new data collector downloads only a .vcl rather than the .dxf my pipe network is missing.

This, in my opinion, is two separate issues. My primary concern is trying to stop my new data collector from downloading designs as a .vcl and download them in the traditional structure (a .csv, a .dxf, and a .ttm/.xml).

Has anyone else experienced this issue and know how to resolve it?

Thanks.

When you publish from to TBC directly to Worksmanager it will always be a VCL.

You'll have to export the DXF from TBC manually and create the design on Worksmanager also manually, there you can dragndrop the DXF and Siteworks will download a DXF.

I run into this as well. You can do as Ronny says to get the DXF. I have also select the utilities export as dxf and then reimport back in, this will create points and lines that you can then send out via vcl. This is an issue I have flagged several times. There needs to an option with the VCL to exploded these on export for software, SiteWorks and Earthworks, that cannot utilize them in the current vcl format.
