 WorksManager - Cleanup VCL File

I'm not sure if this is a WorksManager issue or Trimble Business Center issue.

One of the problems we have with WorksManager's VCL file is each time we publish any surface, all the 3d lines that makes up the surface and/or the other surfaces that it ties into (for example the Original Ground) also gets populated onto the devices which makes the design very congested on data. Today, I happened to come across the "Cleanup VCL file" setting under the properties of the WorksManager jobsite and it looks like this will solve my issue based on the description on the help menu.

However, each time I set this setting to 'Yes', I get an error message (shown below) and publishing the design fails. And the moment I switch the settings to 'No' and re-publish my design, it successfully uploads the design to the server.

Has anybody used this setting before and got WorksManager working?

That's interesting, not sure why you're getting that error. I wonder if you tried on another project the same thing would happen. I get a ton of glitches with the WorksManager VCL exporter. Here is a discussion where I made a very thorough post about the Cleanup VCL command. If you're looking for it to not bring in the lines from a surface, it will do that much. As for keeping out other unwanted features, not so much.

@Adam Bower
Thanks for sharing the discussion link, Adam. It definitely answered most of my questions about this 'Cleanup VCL file' setting.
So, I did saw this error in all 3 projects where I decided to turn on the setting and had exact same issue on publishing a design. Of course, I didn't realized what's causing the error until I get to the 3rd project.
But since you already did your study and jot down the cons of this setting at the other discussion, I think I'll not mess with it for now. I'll wait till it's doing what it's supposed to be doing.
