In Autodesk there is a "wipeout" command that allows you to hide portions of line work and show specified features, is there a similar command in TBC?

There is a "white out" command for text that shows up in the properties pane for each text.

I'm not aware of a wipeout command for linework as you're asking.  Have you tried masking lines with either a hatch or a linestring that has a fill?  You may have to use a Dynaview to mask an area.

The closest thing I can think of is the limit box, or the Dynaview as @Corbitt Shoffner mentioned. But both are used to display things inside a boundary, not things beyond the boundary.
