Surface Edge Extrapolation

  • 1.  Surface Edge Extrapolation

Is there a way to extrapolate (extend) a Surface at the same slope as at the edge triangle? (I could take the Data into Terramodel and do this)

Specifically I have surveyed the underside of a Bridge Deck and want to check the clearances to Railway Tracks  underneath this Deck - I have some specific points that fall just (0.5 metres) outside this Deck that I'd like to include in the report,

    Thanks,

Unfortunately there is no direct "GC91" in TBC.

But you can work around it

Create two parallel lines close to the surface edge. Drape them onto the surface and use the Offset/Slope macro.

    or with a "corridor".

-use the Surface instruction to add it to the corridor, and apply a material name

-use Offset/Elevation to create points a certain distance left or right of the surface edges, use elevation from template level

-now you've got two points on each side, the surface limit and a point on the current surface with that surfaces elevation

-with offset/slope and grade node to node you can now extend the surface edge slope as far as you want.
