  • 1.  Changing from Terramodel to TBC for hydrographic work

    Hi there,

    Are there any TBC users that have migrated from Terramodel for hydrographic work?  We're looking trying to replicate some of the functions of the Geocomp Hydrographic Data Management System (HDMS) macros that we use in Terramodel.  Depth clashing, shoal bias surfaces etc.

    I have asked Simon Lightbody from the Trimble Marine Business Unit to comment on this post. He can advise on what Marine Tools are available today in TBC better than I can. If there are specific things that you need (if they do not already exist) then I could take a look at those with you once Simon has commented. You can send me a prioritized list of what you need (alan.sharp@rockpilesolutions.com) I can take a look to see what is possible today and what could be created for you to help that transition process.

    I would suggest we arrange a call to discuss this. Gary Chisholm was Trimble but now consulting is the expert on HDMS and has documented the marine requirements for TBC.

    Hi Simon,

    We are also in the same situation as Bevan, that I want to utilise TBC opposed to Terramodel HDMS for processing our hydrographic data, predominately shoal biasing within a COI.

    I read in a previous message that you recommended Gary Chisholm is the person to discuss possible options.
    Is it possible for Gary or someone to contact me regarding the move from HDMS to TBC?
