    Hi all,

I have some points and I need to make a pdf as plan view.
The points are marked as a circle by default.

I need change the circles to crosses ....

I can add symbols (e.g code 34) in the Point symbol comand

but the printed result throuht plot box is not good

the crosses are in the midle of point names and there is no inteligent positioning of names as you can see the names cover each other

I used style manager to create something diffrent but without good result

is there any inteligent way to get names not covering? or I must get symbols manually for points that could cover each other?

There is no automatic way to move point labels around based on their proximity to each other - You can move a single label or multiple labels using their properties or you can move each label using its grips to clean up a drawing to eliminate overlaps. Each Label has a Grip for position and rotation.

Where you are labeling points relating to an alignment or line, you can create a label style that computes the rotation to the alignment at the points location and that can help.

Bear in mind that the text height of the labels if you have defined the Text Style using Sheet Units vs Ground Units will be defined by the Plot Scale currently applied to the Plan Vie through Project Settings - View - Plan View - so if you set your Text to Sheet Units and say 1.5mm - that 1.5mm is computed at the scale defined in the project Settings - so if you have a small area plot at say 1:500 scale then the text will be very large in relation to the plot area - so you likely want to make sure that your Plot Scale and Plan View Scale match as that will affect the size of the text and the offsets of the text to the points as defined in your Label Style.

    I hope that this helps

    Thank you Alan,

I know I can move symbols (names) around but for the case there would be hundreds of points it is insufficient way.
It is sad that TBC can not make the positions automatically any inteligent way. So I am asking for the future feature in TBC, I hope it could be help for many users.

Next essue is that after creating symbol names i cant turn on the view of points heights. After removing the names it works fine.

I can add the heights in the style manager but I cant set different size and color for it from the name of points.

Next essue is that I exported a point-style and after impoting into another project it imports layers from the project it was made.
My qustion is: is it ok? Styles have no connection with layers, havent they?... is it possible to set a few styles as default for new projects or I have to import styles everytime?

You can make a full default template with your layers and styles that you will use constantly. It is easier to prepare one permanent master template and then work always in it.

Maybe somebody already has a template they are willing to share with you (@Alan Sharp)

Thank you Filip.... its good to hear I could make a template with all I need.... I suppose I create a project with all I need and save it as template....am I right?

    My question still stands.
How can I make one style with name of the point in white, height 3/4 size of the name in purple? It looks now I have to make one style for name, one style for height and after applying turn the heights in purple with sellection or as layer-collor.
Is it ok import layers with a style?

Yes, when you have everything you want just save it as a template.

On a current project there is no way to import a template to my knowledge.
