Closest points between Lines/Arc

Is there a command to compute the location of the minimum seperation between two arcs / lines,

Specifically in my case I have an external 12d  Design Road Centreline and Kerb line and I want to find the closest point between them, planning for paving run widths.

You could create points at intervals along the kerb and then run a sration offset elev report to list the offsets and then sort in excel to find the closest point

I have never tried to do that - let me think on it as there may be a report that could do it for you

You can also create a station and offset view - pick the HAL and strings you want to review and add them to the view. You can then exaggerate the offset using ctrl shift and wheel and that should show you where the narrowest points are.

There is a string report command. Hit F12 and search for "StringReport"

Choose as Asbuilt your Kerb line and the Road line as "Design" and "Control". In your case you'll have to set the tolerances high, and choose a small interval.

Output in Excel looks like this.

    Thankyou Ron & Alan,

I'll also use the "Pavement Conformance Report (Advanced)" too

As always a lot of info to sift through
