Are you able to model solid objects in BC-HCE for objects like Piers and Piles?

I am trying to model Bridge Piers in BC-HCE and then use the solid objects to make measurements for Clearances to Overhead objects etc. Is that possible, if so how do you do it?

This was a customer question as to whether or not they could model solid objects with a custom cross section in the Business center - HCE product.

The attached video shows how you can use the Drilling and Piling Module functionality to create a Bridge Pier Shape and then apply it to a position, orientation and elevation and then use the created objects to make measurements in the 3D view.

At this stage BC-HCE is not a true solid object modeler, however these tools show how the tools that are available can be used "out of context" to create objects that maybe meet your requirements. While you may have to in this case create a Pile object (for the Pier Shape) and create a Pile Plan into which you can place the created Piers, the video shows the process on how to carry this out to create 4 Bridge Piers of different cross sections and then use the objects to take measurements.

The demonstration would require use of CAD and Drill / Pile capability to achieve the end result.

    I hope that this helps
