The utility takeoff report excludes the volume of the pipe in the trench and reports the volumes occupied by the manholes separately - The report gives you two tabs - one with the trench quantities (excl. the pipe, the other the manhole quantities and their accumulated displacement volume. If you take the first qty and subtract the second quantity you get the net volume. What it doesn't do is break out the manhole displacememnt volume into the material layer quantities, so if you need that you need to pro rate the Manhole quantites based on the depth of materials placed in the trench (i.e. if the Manholes are 2% of the total volume then reduce each layer material by 2% and you will be very close. Since manhole quantities are a pretty small percentage of the totals anyway.
The utility Pipes and Manholes / Boxes are a solid and they do displace volume in the Takeoff reports for Utilities. They do not however affect the volumes in Earthworks Reports or Corridor Earthworks reports at this time.
