Grid Only Points in 5.1

I would just like some clarification on the new create point options in TBC 5.1.  In past versions we had to import our control points from a csv file so that we could set them as "grid only" so that they would not shift.  If I am understanding this new version we can achieve the same thing by keying in the points into TBC and assigning them the "control quality" for each one.  This will will lock them down if you will.  I would then assume that all other option would be transformed then after a site cal or a coordinate system change.

I am not aware of that change - the Control Quality vs Survey or Mapping Quality and Unknown Quality have been in the TBC / BC-HCE product for a long time and they do not have any real direct correlation to Grid Only or Grid Coordinate settings as far as I know. The quality of a point is just an indication as to how accurately it has been established, with Control being the highest accuracy, followed by Survey, Mapping and Unknown in that order.

I do not believe that any change has been made to the Create Points command - I have requested many times to have the ability to set the Grid only or Grid Flag on the points created by this command like we can in many other commands, however the Geospatial Team have resisted that request so far so the change has not been made.

Let me know if you have read about some change somewhere that I may have missed, as I am not sure what your reference is here Ben.

    Thanks

Ok Alan.  I was somehow under the impression that feature was added into 5.1.  Since it is not I will continue the work flow of the past.

    Thank You,
