I have tracked down the issue with the Linestring Markings - this is happening on Linestrings and Alignments and is a Graphics Cache issue - if you turn Line Markings On and Off it can clear the graphics, and a New Plan View can also create a temporary solution. I have seen the following now personally and have logged them all in, and I think that they all relate to the same issue - that being the Graphics Cache is not being refreshed fully or correctly
1) When you edit a Linestring, the line markings for that line are shown. When you close the edit the line markings remain on screen. These will clear when you turn Line Markings On and Off.
2) When you turn off an Alignment, the Line Markings at the Node points are left visible - these are cleared when you turn Line Markings On and Off.
3) If you move an Alignment, it leaves a snail trail of purple dots along the path that you dragged the alignment - these also clear with a Line Markings On and Off
4) I saw on a customers computer a situation where line markings were displayed somewhere other than along the line itself - we could not recreate it during the call but I did see it on their computer
5) If you edit a VPI on a linestring, sometimes the old value is still visible behind the new value - this clears when you turn line markings On and Off
6) Yesterday I moved an alignment from one location to another and then recreated the initial alignment in the same place - when I went to click on the alignment it told me that there were two alignments there when I knew there was only one - so the Graphics Cache was still thinking that the alignment I moved was still there - again toggling line markings On and Off fixed the issue
I have reported all of these issues in to Trimble, I know that they have replicated some of them and that this will be fixed in the 5.4 release which is due out soon.
The problem is a Graphics Cache Refresh issue created by the refactoring work that has been ongoing for a while to make the graphics faster and sharper - apologies for the inconvenience - the team is on it.
