At the moment when I work at home and have my second screen to hand I use it to get easier access to resources and to drag out menu tabs as shown below.

What I would like to have is plan view on one screen and 3D view on the other, is this already a feature request or is there a work around to achieve this at all?

Matt you can already do this. Right click on your 3D view and select the "Float View". You can then drag your 3D view to the other screen.

Do you know if it's only custom shortcuts that dont work or are the default shortcuts useless in float view too?

I believe its all of the shortcuts. However, once you float the view and get it situated, just make sure you click on the plan view tab once and all of those commands should still work. Once I found out this work around, I have been using the dual full screen views without any issues and I have about 20 shortcuts setup.

Brilliant, this suits me as I find it easier to work with a full screen on plan view.
