So if myself and a coleague are both working on different aspects of a project and want to consolidate the data once we have both done our tinkering, does anyone know the best way to go about it?

We have both created linework and surface data, is there an export method that would work better than a .dwg?

My idea would just be to select the created line and point elements and export them as a .dwg I would then refer to my co-worker's project file and recreate the surface data within my own project file manually.

Have you tried exporting data using VCL Project Link exporter?

Go to export, click on the Construction tab, scroll all the way down and choose VCL Project Link exporter. This is the easiest way I transfer data from one TBC file to another TBC file.

Looks like it's not included in the Site Modelling Edition

VCL is in the Site Modeling edition for sure - it is at the base of the list and is called VCL Project Link Exporter

The VCL file is a native TBC file with things like Raw Survey data suppressed. It is the richest data exchange and carries all types of data natively as TBC Objects - for doing what you are doing it is the only way to go.

I have asked product management to look into this - it should be included in like the Field Data Edition - I am surprised but it could have slipped through the net in the TBC 5

I've found the same problem with the VCL export.

I turned it into Sitech. They have contacted the support team for TBC.

Should have a fix soon.

The ability to export to .VCL was unintentionally secured to Site Construction Edition.  It should be set to Field Data Edition.  This will be corrected in the next Patch.
