    Hi guys!

How would you recommend me to get the best out of this data set? This is a test set for me because i want to know how good the X7 scanner are together with other data.

In the dropbox link you will get all the data.

We did just one scan with our SX10 and then we did many stations with our X7. We also used our P4 RTK and we placed the X7 scanner close to some gcp:s just to be able to check the data.

As you can see in the report from the X7 we got a couple off stations wich is orange, not so good but i thing it would be ok anyway. If i took the complete cloud from the X7 and just referenced it to the data from the SX10 i get a error about 11cm in the other end of the project, 600m away, when i check it to my gcps.

Instead of doing pairwise referencing i tried do georeference by using the gcp:s on the grund and then the error seems to be like 40mm instead. That more ok because we just had one station with the SX10.

If you have the time to look at the data, how would you do to get the best result?

    Fred

I am no expert with the SX10 and X7 scanners and you would likely get a better answer from the Geospatial forum on this as they do this type of work all the time.

If I get some time this week I will try to take a look but I think the Survey guys have more experience with this that may be beneficial for you here.

    No problem

Sorry - it would take me a long time to assist you as I dont really work

with the Scanners - only the final result data

I did a scan of a local church with X7, SX10 and drone. Drone was used for the roof, SX10 used for the outside and the X7 in the interior. I re-did the X7 registration in-order to match the SX10 on exits on opposite ends of the building. Un-level the X7 scans really helps remove the errors. I also convert most of the SX10 scans to "Scan Stations", so the can be moved to better align to my control scans. Removes the error in station setups. So basically, I ended up with one georeferenced scan on each end of the building and forced everything in between to line up.

    Average Cloud-to-cloud error: 0.008 ft

    Largest error: 0.02 ft (1/4")

    Nice!!!!

So you un-level the X7 scan and then match them one by one to the SX10 scan in TBC?  I have 50 stations from the X7 so thats a little job but maybe that could help me get it mor accurate.
