Corridor, vertical deflection from node to nod. Possible?

  • 1.  Corridor, vertical deflection from node to nod. Possible?

    Hi guys!

    I need some help here.

I have a corridor and are building my sections from the middle and out and i need to do a subgrade in my sideslope, look at the picture.

I need to do a subgrade 70cm perpendicular from node 6 at a given elevation and from the surface created between node 4 and 5 and the slope between those 2 are changing.

Is this possible? I cant figure this out.

We don't currently support Perpendicular offsets in the corridor. Best I can suggest is if you can report the slope of the sideslope every 10m or so, then you can use Excel to compute a table for a Vertical Offset based on the slope and enter that as a Delta Elevation Table to create what you are trying to do here.

Thanks Alan! thats is a nice workaround, i will try that. Its always trying to think outside the box.

For now i just took the measurement 65cm and it was about 70cm in most places. The guys in the excavators with machinecontrol can not be on the centimeter anyway.

    Hi Alan,

Any chance perpendicular offset will be added as an instruction type in the coming updates? E.g. Node to Node with a perp offset...

It would be a nice little addition, especially for varying batter slope situations.

    Edward

I have logged that in a s a request. The Slope Slope calculation Macro can also help here as that will compute a Perpendicular offset and create you the strings that you can then add as reference lines to use in a Corridor Template - appreciate that is another work around -  I will see what I can do here

    Hi Alan,

The Slope Slope Macro works great!

Saves quite a few template instructions in creating the subgrade nodes 10,11,12 and 13 below!

    Thanks,
