Holes in corridor, what am i doing wrong?

I will attache a .VCE file here with a corridor and one template. Is someone can import it and see what i am doing wrong here. I get holes in the corridor at different places and it seems like it has to do with my alignment, but it does not occur everywhere. Its 2 surfaces, Finish and subgrade "Terassbotten". At one place the whole last slope is missing in the model and i cant fix it.

I cant change my alignment because thats a line wich is used in many other projects so i need it to present the correct station. Thats why i have my own line in the middle wich i am constructing the corridor from.

We are going to deliver models to machines and it would be nice not to need to export the surfaces and import the again as poly 3D to fix it every time.

Someone who know what it could be?

    Fredrick,

I am no sure what caused the holes in your surface. If you are looking for a quick solution, you might be able to build a new surface from the line strings generated from the corridor. They will likely fill the gaps.

    Thanks,
    Dave

I know, but how would i do at the top of slope when its a radius? And i want to be able to easy just rebuild the surface when some changes are made.

A really late answer from me here but thanks anyway, thats what i did and i solved my problem.

Just to add to this I have had the same issue with a project. I still haven’t found what causes it. Sometimes playing with the sampling frequency makes a hole go away, sometimes the order in which the instruction nodes are added makes a difference.
It seems to occur when using the ‘connect’ instruction between linestrings, when I built the same corridor from a table the holes where not there...

This worked great for me.  I added an culvert outfall and infall regrading surface,  then in the  roadway corrdior added the culvert surfaces to each side of the roadway. The contours used to build the surface made the corridor go nuts and interpolated wrong and left holes.  Having the ability at each template to change the "Sampling Distance" is great.  This allows for densifing without following the whole alignment.

    Hello Fredrik,

that comes most likely from your edgy polyline you used as the horizontal CL alignment. It is very obvious that the gaps are where the CL changes direction. And the gaps are nearly all on the "inside", where the smaller angle is. With edgy polylines you always have that trouble if you have to compute perpendicluar to that line. Even though you don't use the edgy line in your template all chainage based computations are done perpendicular to it. Hence you get troubles with ambiguities in the kinks.

You should have used your nicely curved "CA mitten kanal" for the alignment.

Here is a good example what I mean. Also, look at the surface triangulation, it runs perpendicular to your edgy CL.

How does one fix the holes if only one edge of the roadway is curving, say a edge pavement for a turn lane. example below. ( this project has been a test for me for sure)

I have found the solution for these gap. At least for me.  The line work i have used for a reference or 3d lines, The distance tolerance does not make smooth curves as a curve line and the over lap of corridor and line will be out of tolerance and some will. That is what creates gaps in some area. It is best to offset the curve line and use the offset to create a small gap (0.02-0.04).  the use of instruction connect will be used to fill that gap.  You have to zoom in all the way to see the small gap where you see gaps in the surface from  the corridor.
