IFC import, colours working on some

    Hi!

Look at the pictures. The Buildig that is " a real one" is a ifc file i got from a customer to a project. This file have some colours when i import it to skechup and when importing to TBC. If i create my own objects in sketchup and export the as .ifc and the import them in TBC they are just grey. I have tried to give them just colours, textures, different layers and gave the layers different colours. Made a component, no component and a group. Does not matter, when i export my own objects from sketchup as a ifc to tbe the are just grey, how do i get them coloured?

I am no expert at Sketchup Frederik, however the creation of IFC outputs from Sketchup is all based on assigning the components you create specific attributes that are then linked to IFC Object and IFC Object Properties and those are what TBC Reads during import. It isnt as simple as changing a color in Sketchup - IFC is very structured and formal and the IFC Export from Sketchup follows that rigidity to get the correct IFC File Definitions etc.

This is really a Sketchup question more than a TBC question - I will take a quick look to see what I can see though and will let you know what I find out here

I have not had the time to wade my way through this part of the Sketchup Help but hopefully it will shine a light on your questions relating to Color and other attributes

This should be the place in their help system that you need to read
