    Hi!

    its me again......;)

Look at the pictures, does anybody know how to use the files when they are published to TCC? Should i be able to view 3D-files  or is it just for sharing files? Just testing things right now.

TCC does not have a file viewer. You won't be able to view this file in TCC.

Ok. So what is it? I can´t import the file to businesscenter after exporting it. It has to be something, its 42mb.

TCC no longer supports viewing these files.
You my try converting to a format that is visible in Trimble Connect Desktop.

Aha, so thats why. Its an old function wich may work with Trimble connect instead in the future.

Thanks for your answer, i appreciate it!

    Fred

TCC has the following main functions

    1) File Storage (a bit like Drop Box or Box or Google Drive etc) but without any viewing capability on line. If you have BC-HCE Support - Options - External Services set up for TCC credentials, then you can use Open Remote File, Save File Remotely and Publish to TCC commands. The Export Command (For single file exports) can also write data directly to a TCC folder.. Once on TCC you can share the Folders and Files with third Parties as well as with SCS900, Siteworks, SitePulse, GCS900, Earthworks etc type systems

    2) Wireless Data Sync (allows files to be created in BC-HCE. placed in a Local Sync Folder and then synchronized to TCC using Office Synchronizer. Once on TCC then the field systems can download / upload / Sync data from the field to TCC and then down again to the Local PC making it possible to transfer data between the Office and Field over the Internet. The field systems all have the TCC Sync capability built in. This means that you always have a copy of all field data and all office prepared data in the cloud as a Backup and for File Transfer.

    3) Remote Assistance - allows an Office person to provide support to a field user using SCS900 and GCS900 software - it gives you Team Viewer type access to the device so you can see and control the field device remotely when providing support or training to a field user

    4) Internet Base Station Service (IBSS) - allows you to connect your GPS Base Stations and GPS Rovers to the service to deliver corrections / receive corrections over cellular phone vs over Radio. This extends operation range for the Rovers. IBSS is supported in all of the field systems. (This is like a "Poor Mans VRS" and allows you to run several jobsites off the same base station or to get to remote locations (Borrow / Waste sites) that are offsite without having to put down Radios or Repeaters. It has a working range of 20 miles(~30km). Accuracy reduces with range.

Above this TCC has Admin capabilities to manage Users, Devices and Project partners etc.

Depending on what you are trying to do - the Connect Family of products (Connect (Web), Connect Desktop and Connect Mobile applications can also be used to satisfy Web hosting of data - there are visualizers for some formats in Connect like IFC, LandXML, DWG, DXF, PDF, and some Laser Scan formats (in Desktop). You can mash up different file formats in a single view in Connect. You can also set up an External Service Profile in BC-HCE for Connect and use the same Export, Open remote File, Save File Remotely etc with Connect. You can easily open up Projects to eg Clients or other project Stakeholders and share data in appropriate formats with them - they can View, Markup and Comment or create To Dos / Track Activities in Connect / Connect Desktop. Connect Desktop started out as BimSight from Tekla and has been repackaged as Connect Desktop. Data placed on Connect (Web) can be syncd to Desktop or Mobile for Office or Mobile Viewing / querying purposes.

Long term, Connect and TCC will merge capability - currently they are separated products and capability. Connect currently does not support VCE or VCL file Formats nor does it have any Global reference (Calibrations, Project Coordinate Systems etc.)

If you are trying to do something specific please ask and I will try to give you a recommendation s to which project to use

The Publish to TCC command creates a hsf file (as one of its outputs) along with the BC-HCE Project File etc and the Georeferenced Images etc that you have in the project. The .HSF is a Hoops Streaming File and can be used with the Hoops Streaming Viewer called Hoops Visualizer.

Hoops is the Graphics Engine that we use in BC-HCE and that is used by other CAD products like AutoCAD and Rhino etc (as far as I know). The Hoops Streaming Viewer can be found at this location

    Download Hoops Visualzer (For Desktop)

TCC used to have a 3D Viewer that supported this HSF file that has been discontinued - but the HSF viewer is still supported by Techsoft

I have not used this Visualizer product (they used to have an Online Service that you could load the HSF files into but it seems that they have moved to this Desktop Product now as the HSF Viewer. I just downloaded it and while it provides the viewing tools to HSF files, you will get a better experience using LandXML files with Connect or Connect Desktop than you will with this HSF Visualizer.

Using Publish to TCC allows you to save your entire Project to TCC as a Backup or in order to share using TCC as the Web Service.
