Plot Projected surfaces

Should I be able to plot sections through a projected surface?

I can see what I'm looking for in the plot, but it's in the cutting plane view, but the section linework  doesnt show in the cross section view, or the XS sheet.

Am I getting this wrong or can anyone advise how best to utilise these projected surfaces.

    Thanks

Projected Surface does not support the cutting of Cross Sections. If the data is alignment based - or can be made alignment based (even just a straight line) then you can use the Create Radial Surface and that can be added to a Corridor as a Surface Instruction and then you can cut Sections through it just like any other surface. I posted a Video on this a few weeks back in response to a User here in US that was measuring a face of a Pile Enforced Wall on a Highway project and they wanted sections cut through it - Here is the link to that post which may be helpful

    Thanks Alan,

If I was to pass that surface on to an end-user what's the recommended export format.

I tried DXF. but they're a bit unwieldy.

Depends on what they are using and what you want to give them

    1) You can export the cross sections - if you select the sections in the sheet view graphically from the sheet view - it will export to DXF / DWG Model Space.

    2) You can export the cross sections - if you select the Sheets in Project Explorer then the sections will be exported to DXF / DWG in Paper Space

    3) You can export the Radial Surface as a DXF or DWG 3D Faces model to AutoCAD. You cannot export it to LandXML or TTM or any other surface format because they dont support radial surfaces - so the 3D Faces is the best bet.

    4) You can send your client a VCE file and they can use the TBC Free Viewer to view and manipulate the data - and hopefully see the value in TBC and purchase a copy :-) !!!

Hope that this answers the question
