Select specific attributes to place as text

Currently when placing text against a point, for example, we seem to only be able to put either all attributes against that point or none. There appears to be no way to select just a specific attribute for placing text, which would make sense as many users would want to collect more attributes in the digital form than show in a printed result.

This is important for things like Trees, where if a tree was picked up from a scan using the Extract Point Feature tool, we are able to map trunk, spread and height (amongst others). When a user goes to place text on a tree collected using this method for just the height, they don't seem to be able to as TBC only lets them place all or nothing.

If I am missing a setting here sorry, happy to climb down from my soapbox if someone has a simple (there are other more complex workarounds in TBC) method for doing this!

I guess one way of doing this would be to have different label set up for each attribute( not ideal), but I agree , TBC needs an option that perhaps allows the user to separate each attribute with its own label perhaps that can be in its own layer?

Also I have asked before for the "=" sign to be removed from the label, I can do this in ACAD(find and replace) but not in TBC

Another suggestion is to be able to label lines with attribute data automatically with a label

Another way this could (and maybe should) be handled is in the FXL with a Label function against attributes.

    Hey Ross,

I'm also surprised we're not able to select certain attributes to label in TBC. I also agree that label styles should be improved work better with feature classes, for instance being able to create a custom label style for a feature class, where you can choose which attributes to show from the class.

I'll be sure to add this our the enhancement list.

I would also love to be able to create a custom report separating out certain attributes. As of right now, if you select to add an attribute to your report it is the same thing - all or nothing. To be able to separate them out into individual columns or rows would be great.
