FYI - Downloaded update to 5.32 and HASP driver

  • 1.  FYI - Downloaded update to 5.32 and HASP driver

FYI - installing 5.32 from the offline download is nuking the HASP drivers. You'll need to go through the HASP troubleshooting steps, including the purge, to get it squared away. We are 3 for 3 on having to do this so it's not machine specific.

We didn't do the online update so I cannot comment on that.

FYI … I have used the online update on 2 machines, and the HASP drivers were fine on both machines.

I'll have to try the online next time. A couple updates ago, and I don't remember what it was, we tried the online and it screwed something else thus is why I've been going offline as of late.

Richard: I used the offline install and the HASP drivers worked OK for me. I'll let you know when I do it on the other computer if anything changes.

Lucky you Marshall cause doing the purge and reinstall is a real PITA.

    Hi Richard,

If the HASP drivers are in use while they are being updated, then the installation may prompt to reboot upon completion. If the prompt is ignored, then the drivers may appear to be "nuked" until a restart takes place.

Can you please confirm that this wasn't the case when you were installing the update?

    Best,

    Sanjeev

I don't recall specifically so I can not definitively confirm but I typically close TBC before updating and reboot after updating (best practices since DOS). Sorry I couldn't be more help. If no one else is having the issue then it must be isolated or I did something incorrect, but the same issue happened on more then one machine. Would it help to remove the dongle during updates?

I have never had to remove the dongle during an update, I use the download and install Offline most times and I have never had an issue losing my Hasp Drivers - so not sure what is happening on your machines - maybe AntiVirus or something like that is stopping HASP Drivers installing correctly via the installer?

I also seem to have lost my dongle license since updating to 5.32.  Checked all hardware on usb's in bios, looked good.  Checked device manager in windows and Sentinel HL needs to update driver.  I can't find the driver update via windows update, per our group policy may not be available.  Is there a link that has the driver update direct from Trimble?  Thanks

You can find the drivers in the downloaded installation files - there is a folder called HASPSetup and another called HASPUpdater in the installation folders. You can find those on c:\Trimble Downloaded Installations\ TBC Version No\

If you try those first that may help.

Failing that you can go to the Thales / Gemalto Website (Software Monetization Drivers and Downloads | Thales ) you can find the drivers there also for the HASP

Let me know that you get this resolved.
