Surface Sampling Distance

Is there any way to adjust the sampling distance per individual surface other than the global settings for the project? Quite often I find the need to have my Finish Design surface densified more than an existing ground surface. Controling project size is one of my main objectives.

Yes.  You just select the surface you want to change, then right click, pick properties, and you can change the sampling distance for just the surface.  Additionally, if the surface is related to an alignment you can select that alignment in the surface property then choose 'yes' for alignment based.  Then scroll to the bottom of the surface properties and you can further densify the surface based on the selected alignment.

Wayne, Appreciate the response but I must be missing something. I unable to find where you can adjust the sampling distance in the surface's individual properties pane. I do see where you can adjust the maximum edge lenth. Let me know if I'm looking in the wrong location.

    Todd,

I'm guessing for a regular surface not a corridor surface? Go into Project settings>Computations>Surface. It will be the "Breakline Approximation Parameters" Change the Maximum sampling distance. I usually keep mine ~10. I think sometimes TBC by default when it's installed changes it to something like 10000'

Todd, it currently can't be done........I assume you are asking about multiple surfaces within the same project, and would like to assign a unique maximum sampling to each surface........
