Dwg import problem

Can anybody tell me why the Drain pit line work turns up in Trueview viewer, but when imported to TBC there is no line work to be seen?

I have tried converting it back to dwg 2007 with no luck.

The 1st picy is Trueview with green arrows showing Line work, 2nd picy is TBC same area showing no line work.

    Link to file below.

    Any help appreciated.

    Wayne,

It looks like the line that you're after is part of an xreferenced block entity.

For this line to show up in TBC, you will have to explode it from AutoCAD.

The layer for this block is locked so you will have to unlock it first before you could explode it.

Thanks, I downloaded NanoCad and I could unlock the Layer, but when I explode it, it disappears completely, even with all layers turned on?

It says object locked, so I think you are onto something here, thanks.

Since you only have Trueview you can try to save as a dxf.

Here is a Dropbox link to where I exploded everything in Civil 3D.  I am not sure if your line is there, but give it a try.

This is all Autodesks grand plan to "mess with Sasquatch" - they don't make it easy to work with their data and make it difficult for everyone to use unless you use AutoDesk products - the civil data and xref data is likely not in the file you have - and it may be hard to get at.

Good to see you all tag teaming this to solve a "data transfer problem" - I had hoped that after 30+ years in this business we would be beyond reading and writing files to make projects work

Sorry this is such a pain we are trying to help here but every year they introduce more and more complexity into this scenario- you are better off using non Autodesk Standards if you want interoperability

Sometimes the best you can do is request a downgraded proxygraphics file from the creators of the Autocad file.
