    When you check the "Remove unprotected layers with no objects" box in the project cleanup and run the tool, it will remove the vertical design layer even if there are vertical rules on it. Can the vertical design layer be protected by default in future releases? The rules are still shown in the vertical design editor and you can still make changes to them, but is there a way to show the rules again once the layer is removed?

    This has been corrected for an upcoming patch.  The program will consider the layer as having objects when used by the vertical design.
