TBC 5.30 Line Colors

Just wondering if anybody experiences this one.

Starting a new job and brought in CAD lines then I notice that all the linework came in as color "White" even though the property colors are "by layer".

I also converted the CAD lines to linestring and standardize the layers.

    Please see the video.

Is it possible you have that checked?

    No, it's normal.

I would have to see the file Eric- if the file has all of the layer colors defined as white or not defined at all and then all the objects set to by layer then they would all show up white as we create the layer and define its color based on what is in the dwg file and then the objects are drawn on the layer and those set to Bylayer will be drawn in white as a result

Open the file in Autocad or trueview and see if it is different there if yes then send me the file so I can take a look at it

Looks a bit strange - please share the file - I have not seen or noticed this - it could be something odd about the file

I just tested a few DWGs on my end and they all appear to be behaving as expected - I would need to get the VCE after Import as well as the DWG file to evaluate this. I looked at this in v5.3 and it appears OK - so your file could be the problem - I would like to take a look though if you can share it with me.

I tried the files in TBC v5.3 and they all appear to be working as per design - the Color of items on Layers is By Layer and the ByLayer is set by the Layer itself and all seems to be correct at my end. I am trying to work out what setting you could have had that stopped this from behaving as it should and I am struggling to be honest.

If you could try using the US Foot basic Template and see if you get the same thing, if not then it is likely your template that is causing the issue to arise - if not that then we should do a call to take a look at it together as I cannot recreate what you are seeing.

Alan, since reading this I think I ran into a similar issue with 5.30. But my philosophy is that if it's fixed with a simple TBC restart, I don't consider it important enough to even think about. Of course the downside is that you guys don't get the feedback. But I think I had the same thing happen, shire lines when there were supposed to be colors in the layers. I don't remember if it was an entire cad file or if I had only a few layers visible. Definitely think there's a bug somewhere.

I have to be able to recreate steps to show the problem - unless I can

recreate it it is hard to get development to look for a problem that noone

    knows how to recreate

If you see the issue and can recreate it I can have someone look at it for

    sure.

Erics video shows the problem but not the steps that created it

    unfortunately

I can discuss with development and see if they have any ideas

    Hi Alan,

Sorry, I can't respond to your comment quickly. Just crazy busy right now.

I didn't do anything different this time.

    Same as always.

    1. Drag and drop CAD to blank TBC using my templates.
    2. Create an Alignment so I can use the stationing and offset to overlay my pdf
    3. Drag and drop the pdf and georeference it ( I usually do this first before standardizing the layers because the CAD layering doesn't represent the correct layers and I can easily remove the junk cad lines using the pdf background)
    4. Standardizing layers

    Thank you

I have documented it. It appears for me it is related to copying the "All" view filter. Odd...

OK - awesome - I can recreate now and pass it on

    Thanks
