I would like to know how to display measured topo point cut/fills when compared to an active surface.  This can be done in SCS900 and displayed on the data collector screen.  Would be very useful if this function is available in TBC

Great question Pat.- If you have created an Isopach (to create a Cut Fill Map, you can create a Copy of the Points that you surveyed on a new layer and then use the Change Elevation command to set the copied points to the elevation of the Isopach Surface. Then you can use Label Points to Label them with Elevations and you will get +- Elevations where + means that the Surface 1 - Surface 2 Value is Positive (High) and - means the Surface 1 - Surface 2 Value is a negative value (i.e Low) but you have to have a Cut Fill Map or a Volume Difference Isopach to achieve this.

You can also run the Pavement Conformance report (Corridor Menu) that compares the Measured Points to the Target Surface and generates an Excel File of Station, Offset, Elevation, Delta Elevation with optional N and E values. If you report the N and E values and then in Excel delete the Station, Offset (or keep those if you have an alignment for the checks), and substitute the Delta Elevation for the actual elevation, you can then import the Point, N, E, Z, D or Sta, Off, Elev data like we showed you last week at PUG and create points with the Deltas as their Elevation and then Label those or turn on the values using View Filter Manager - this will give you what you need today. (it is a work around)

We have noted your requirement here (and others have given the same feedback) and I hope that we can have this labeling need in a future release - that will cover this workflow and also that required for labeling Bridge Beam Deflections etc, (Watch this space)

How does one run a pavement performance report? I do not see it under the reports tab in the corridor menu?

Select F12 for command Pane and type in a pavement it will show you the command (it is a command not a report)

I have it on my custom Corridors menu ribbon if you use my custom ribbon (posted on Forum at each release)

To label point cut and fills you can use smart text or you can use Point label styles - you have to define the label style and pick the surface you want to reference (on surface per style)

In TBC v5, in the surfaces tab, there's also a "Points to Surface" command, that create a table of selected points and a Cut/fill to a surface.

Also, from Alan's CEC-1435 presentation, use Smart Text surface elevation to label cut/fill.

An oddity we're finding with this method though, the cut/fill  "C" and "F" labels are reversed.

My Smart Text is:

This produces:

I would think, with the topo point elevation being higher than the surface elevation, it should be "0.050C".

Good point here - and good discussion point - you are trying to create a Cut Fill Label and in that case if the Point is above design you have to Cut to get to Grade and I think that is the intended use case for this label and I would agree that we may have this inverted (and will see if the Development Team agree that we should fix it - because you can also argue that if a point is 3' above the target surface it could also be a Fill point and if 3' below the surface it could be a Cut Point - In the Label you can I believe add Prefix and Suffix so you can I think fix this (from a presentation graphics perspective) but the debate still exists whether this is Right or Wrong. 

If you change the Smart Text that I told you about at Dimensions (Great to see that getting quoted back to me) as shown below (Change the T to the red F as shown below) then The C or F after the Cut Fill Value is removed and you are left with just a Positive of Negative number which matches the picture below (created by using Label Points). The T or F is a True / False control that says "Use the C or F nomenclature" on values or not - T = Yes and F = No - having said that I have today recommended that we flip the C to an F and vice versa so that we are 100% consistent across the functions in TBC (so thanks for pointing this out - I have missed that one).

There is also another way to do this now and that is to create a Point Label Style and that now allows a Point Label to Reference a Surface Model and in the Label you can define Point Elevation, Design Elevation and Delta Elevation as shown in the picture before - the values are simply +ve and -ve Deltas and so they are more "Absolute" and you can label all points at once - you just have to remember to edit the Point Label Style so that it references the correct Design Surface before you label the points - in this case I also created a Design and Survey Surface (from the points) and generated a CF Map to show that the Values clearly represent the correct situation - reality is unless you show the Actual, Design and CF Value they will always have the potential to be ambiguous to a reader in the absence of a CF Map behind as shown below.

Just want to add another level to this. Is there a way to have the text colour coded like the cut/fill map? 

for example; above, below and in tolerance? or simply just using the colour mapping tool to change the colours of the text.
