NGS has found errors in the new Geoid18 model. Is the Trimble ggf file safe to use?

    Hi Joshua,

The errors in NGS's provided geoid files have been addressed with the release of the Coordinate System Database 88. The full announcement post can be found here: **GEOID18 Update in CSD88** .

This database can be downloaded through the 'Check for Updates' command in TBC.

What about the .ggf file that goes in the data collectors. Has that been updated?

The files on the data collectors also outdated and will need to be updated to CSD 88. All Trimble programs use the same files for coordinate system files (C:\Program Data\Trimble\GeoData).

I would recommend updating the coordinate system database on your tablet as well by using Check for Updates in the Coordinate System Manager.
