Corridor Intersection - Connecting to CL and not EP. Not sure why?

I have a model that I am working on and I am using the intersection tool to tie two corridors together. This seems to be working while but I realized that one of the connections is not connecting from EP to EP, instead it is connecting from CL to EP.

I went through both of my templates and I cannot find the cause of this. Attached is the BCE file. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Pat

There is something funny about the Table on the Right Side Pavement (Ep) - if I change that to a straight 15' offset from Station 0 it works fine, If I change it to a Table that starts at 0/15 and ends at 2131/? it also works fine but your table for some reason doesnt work and the Right Lane of Merlin Drive fails to connect around the Curve into Guinivere Drive.

I took everything out of the Templates to see what was causing the issue and just had Ep Left and Right on both sides and then I looked at the Table on that Ep and it solved the issue.

The way it is behaving it looks like a defect in the computations engine - If both Left and right Ep start at the same station it works fine, if I adjust the Right Side the Right Side fails in the Intersection. I will forward to development to take a look at why this is happening - this however gives you a solution to the issue today.

Thank you Alan. I notice that on the left side. I tried taking away the end station in the right side table, thinking it had something to do with that, but I did not try eliminating the table.

On the left side, I had my template starting at Sta 2+00 but in my template the left side actually started at 3+18.05 via a table. This caused the whole intersection not to work. I changed the template station to 3+18.05 and the left side worked but the right side was giving the results shown.

I can easily work around this in the meantime with another template drop. Thanks for looking into this and passing it along.

I stand corrected. It looks like there is also issues when you insert different template drops.

I got this response from development today on this issue - it appears that they have not really tested the Intersection Object in detail on Corridors where there are lots of Template Drops or lots of Tables in Templates or where there are variable numbers of nodes in Templates along a corridor - the reality is that through the Intersection Area (defined by the Intersection Object) at least, there cannot be any change to The Lane Edge or Shoulder Tagged Objects for the Intersection to work. They need to build in better checks for this and flag users if you are building an Interesection into a number of Corridors where Tables or Templates would cause the Cross Section of the Corridor to change through the area affected by the Intersection Object.

I have fed this back into developmemt that all corridors will have variable Templates and in many cases multiple Templates - and we cannot restrict this to corridors only with "Simple Templates".

Be aware of this for the time being, the fix may make the patch but this is a bigger issue to resolve and that will take a little time

If they are looking it this tool, something that I would also recommend in the future is adding the ability to use the intersection tool for subbase material. You would probably need a whole new intersection, such as Merlin Intersection (Subgrade). Or maybe not, it could be based of the parameters of the finished grade intersection applying horizontal offsets. In most of the cases that I can think of, the subgrade lane lines follow the finish grade lines, they are just extended further out.

I have a few tricks and ideas to accomplish this with current methods but figured I would throw the subgrade intersection idea out there if they have to open up the engine and do some tweaking anyway.
