Utilities - Reassign node to a new network

Is there a way to reassign a node/nodes to a new network? I accidentally assigned all of my sewer manhole nodes to my drainage network and I am looking for quick and easy way to assign them to my sewer network. I did not find anything in the help guide. If there is not one can we add this as an #enhancementrequest. I think this could be a common mistake that can be time consuming to fix.

As it looks right now, I will have to delete my sewer nodes and recreate them to add them to the sewer network.

I am thinking a work around could be:

    1. to export them via XML or VCL
    2. Change the network in a blank TBC project
    3. Export again with the desired network name
    4. Import this file into my project

This could be a viable work around in the interim.

This did work. It is not the cleanest way and I foresee issues as explained in the video but will work.

Hate to bring up a dead thread. I haven't messed around with the Utilities Module for a couple years. I put each run on its own network. I have 100 plus manholes/nodes all together, 12 networks. Shoot me now.

You could just change the Network Name and the Type if necessary - i.e. you entered them all into Sanitary Sewer which is a Gravity based - so you can simply rename the Sanitary Sewer Network to Storm Sewer or Water Main and change the Type from Gravity to Pressure if Water Main. Since you cannot create Pipes / Lines without the Nodes being present, this assumes that you did not add them to a Network that maybe you already completed.

You can also Export to VCL then change the name of the Network in TBC and then import the VCL (it will create you a copy that you can then mess with - change the Network Type and name as above. If you dont want the entire Network you can just export the Nodes you got in the wrong place and then Re Import them.

The big issue is moving a node/pipe run/pipe from an existing network to another existing network. There is not way of doing it.

    i.e.

I have 2 existing networks; drainage and sewer. Both with data in them. I accidentally created 8 sewer manholes in my drainage network. I want to move those sewer manholes from the drainage network to the sewer network.

    You have to:

    1. Delete the data from the old network
    2. Create create the data in the new network

Depending on the amount of data, this could be quick or this could be quite cumbersome.

Seconded, got 16 nodes in before I relised I was on the wrong network.

I just deleted and created new ones, good to know there is a work around, but ideally it would be as simple as swpping a property
