Feature Request - Apply VPI by temporary plane

Creating a vpi from a plane snap is super useful for parking lots but you have to keep repeating this process every time you add a vpi. Is there a way to create one temporary plane and apply multiple VPIs to multiple objects based on this temporary plane? I could the  elevate all four corners of a parking lot using one plane instead of creating 4 operate ones.

Assume that the Plane is not Horizontal right? it is a sloping plane? If Horizontal Plane you can use Macro VPI At Elev - pick the line and then define the elevation and it will create you VPIs on the line anywhere that the line has the defined elevation.

You can create a Planar Surface using the Create Planar Surface Command and then use Change Elevation Command to drape the lines on the Planar Surface - that works well today and gives a good result. Then you can delete the planar surface when completed as there is zero dependency of the lines on the planar surface.

Here is an example where I did this - the ling straight lines are 1' contours on a 10% slope. The perpendicular lines are "construct lines" to define the orientation of the plane slope. The other lines - the lozenge and one other line are the Parking Island lines.

I picked all of the lines and draped them on the planar surface (Green surface behind the linework).

I also sent you an email separately on this Pat

Would the lines lose their geometry and become segmented when draped?

The geometry appears to hold, at least within TBC.

Alan this issue with the draping method is that any preexisting elevations set to the line you drape on the planar surface get erased. So if you have one long edge of pavement line you are using, this wouldn't work.
