I received this error message when trying to export a point cloud as a rcp file type.

Is there a way to test the cause of this?

I believe that a .rcp file is an AutoCAD ReCAP file and to export a file with that extension you must have AutoCAD ReCAP Pro installed onto your computer.

Chris is correct - Autodesk licenses the ability to write a recap file to Trimble based on the end user having a license installed on the same PC for Recap Pro. If you do not have a license then this capability is prohibited. There was an issue in earlier version of TBC on the order of installation of TBC and Recap Pro - i.e. Recap had to be installed first and then TBC - which meant in some cases having to deinstall TBC, install Recap Pro and then reinstall TBC, however I believe that that has been fixed in v5.1 so that the order is n longer important.

f you have a full license of recap pro and this is still causing you an issue, please let me know so I can look into it further. Let me know if this is the cause of your issue also so I can close out this issue.

It is the issue that Chris mentioned. I was trying to create a rcp file within TBC to import to Civil3D. My intent was to create this without needing a Recap License but it looks like that is not the case.
