I think it would be beneficial to have some type of object explorer in drafting or have the ability to select a object in edit mode and see the properties of the object, such as its layer. It would be useful if the tool showed where a selected object lives in the sheet settings.

This would be particularly useful for Profile and Cross sections. 

I will log in the enhancement request Pat - The actual output data that ends up on the Sheets especially for sections are just lines and text etc, however in the Edit Mode, the elements at that stage are linked to the template information, however the items today are as you know not selectable, however they are interactively linked so that if you change a property it updates the view, so maybe there is a way to make the view active so if you select an object it highlights it in settings - I will discuss with development to see if that would be possible based on the way the information is held in the program. I don't disagree with your points - I have done a lot of work in these tools so I know them pretty well, but I agree that they are not the easiest to set up or find your way around as a Novice / Early stage user - that is why I created the Templates so that you can get at least first stage good results without too much learning and that there is a process that you can follow to generate results.
