Pan with rectangular select?

Is there a way to pan the screen when using the rectangular select?

I tried using the select by polygon and this works but can be very finicky sometimes and doesn't always select the items I thought I encompassed.

    Thanks!

I found my issue with polygon select, polygon select will only select the entities that are in view when the polygon is closed out. Therefore you need to zoom extends when closing out the polygon to make sure you get everything.

I can understand the theory behind this. There almost needs to be another tool when working with data such as cross sections that would allow you to pick a start, stop and width and select everything within this box.

You could do this via create rectangular polygon, inside boundary select, and delete or move but this would add a lot of extra steps.

With Polygon select if you go clockwise or anticlockwise is like bottom Left to Top Right or Top Right to Bottom Left in rectangle Select - one does select Crossing the other Inside

You can zoom In and Out while selecting using Rectangle select, but there is no pan once you have selected the lower left corner or top right corner - when you Zoom In the focus is where the pointer is currently so you can select things relatively easily using that approach.
