Good call that would work in this case because I have that overhead line that is perpendicular to the edge of pavement.
If I did not have this, I wouldn't be able to use this trick. With a bearing an intersection, I could snap to the bearing of the edge of pavement, add or subtract 90 to get perpendicular to the line and then choose the line I wish to intersect. I think this is a pretty common case I run into. Normally I will either choose bearing and distance, choose a distance that extends past the line and break and delete the extra segment.
Not a show stopper but would help to cut out steps and speed things up, especially when drafting.
