3D Area Linestring

Customer collected data on a collapsed wall (not a scan).  Remaining wall face (at edge of collapse) and some data of exposed slope.  They needed to determine the face surface area.  They tried a polygon (drawn in 3D) and surface properties (2D area).  We ran a Surface Information report and was able to get a 3D surface area.  They essentially had two points along the top, nearly twice the width as the bottom opening after clean up, and points at each block step down each side.  The surface filled in those "step" areas with extra links.  We weren't able to trim out those links because we could only see them in 3D view.

It would be nice if we could get a 3D surface area on closed objects that are 3D; linestrings, polygons.. Or trim in 3D.

Use the Find Surface Area Macro - that is exactly what it is for - if you have a Surface made of Points and Lines and you have the Polygon in the surface as Breakline(s) then you just click in the area and it will give you the surface and plan area directly and you can place it as text on the drawing
