Offset Line and Side Slope Issue

  • 1.  Offset Line and Side Slope Issue

I am building an MSE Wall so I am using a lot of offset lines to get the different layers and lines. I keep offsetting lines and they will cut off the steps of the level pad on an angle instead of with a .01 offset on the verticals. Does anyone know why this happens and how to model to prevent it?

There is a lateral and longitudinal tolerance on Verticality Buck that was  historically 5mm (0.015') or 10cm (0.328) that was used to weed out duplicate sections (closer than the tolerances) that we updated with a setting you can control in v5.1 to 5mm (0.015) and 5mm (0.015) using a setting that is on the Template in the Corridor model - change the setting from Default (5mm / 10cm) to Best (5/5) or Best and BL Acrross (5mm / 5mm and we draw a hard breakline across the model as well as longitudinally to better constrain the model.

What this means is that if you have a vertical step n the footing, then make it 0.02' from vertical by moving the top back or the base forward in the alignment, and make sure you change the setting to Best and BL Across. The video at the link below covers this specific subject area. I covered this at PUG a while back.

I changed the alignment to have .02 spacing and the setting to add the breaklines and now it works great.

    Thanks, Alan.

For some reason that link is broken Alan. Thank you
