Exporting hatch objects to machines

    Hello,

Is it possible to export Hatch Objects to the machines/data collectors from V5.20?

    Thanks,

I'm not sure what field equipment you're using, but most won't handle hatches, blocks ect. You can explode the hatch before you export, but if it's a complex or dense hatch it could create a larger file size (normally only a problem with older field equipment). TBC can automatically explode blocks upon export, by enabling that option in export dialog, but not hatching.

If you edit the Hatch object properties and change the scale parameter then you can make it less dense before you explode the hatch patterns - these will bloat your machine files significantly if you do this - I would put them in the Site Map rather than the Design file for the machine to minimize the amount of selectable linework on screen as well.

I dont know where the Machine guys are at in terms of supporting this type of data - For Siteworks they are moving fast towards full support of TBC VCL files and that will give them hatching possibilities - the alternative on Siteworks is to capture an image and put it up in background to show the hatched areas - however I dont believe the machines have this option either unless that just changed at ConExpo last week which it may have.
