How can I offset a surface without using MSI Manager?

I have a finished grade surface, is there a way that I can create a copy of the entire surface, but offset 2' below finish grade? I know it was easy in Terramodel, is it easy in TBC?

    Adam,

This is how I did it in Ver 4.12

    1) Export out the FG surface as a .DWG

    2) Import the surface.dwg

    3) Convert the 3D faces to linestrings

    4) Run the Change Elevation- Select all the linestings and lower them by -2'

    5) Create new surface from the linestrings.

Ver 5 has a macro for copying a surface and offsetting it.

    Hope this helps!

Mike, I've done a similar procedure except I don't do your step 3. Is there a reason to do the conversion to linestrings first? Also it will be nice to have the macro in v5.

You can also export as a TTM and then as you reimport it you can explode it if using the Import command vs Drag and Drop - this does the same thing. The v5 Macro will be the way to go once v5 is released.
