Attribute Text Orientation

Is it possible to change the orientation of attribute text? For example can the orientation of elevations shown when editing a linestring be oriented to a fixed position?

If it is currently not possible (I cannot figure out how to do that) then may I suggest it as a feature request.

When you say "Attribute Text" are you referring to Labels that you have created or things like the Point ID, Elevation, Code, and Linestring Labels that you can just turn On and Off while working? The Former are controllable in the Label Style Managers and those are the ones that we recommend for labeling for final drawing purposes, the others are just there to assist while editing a drawing / model / project etc..

The latter can have their sizes changed and their fonts etc - that is under Support - Options and at the base of the options dialog, the fonts that are defined there control these labels and grids etc. but you cannot rotate the labels (they are oriented in relation to the lines from which they are derived.

Can you give a reason why this is important to you, that may highlight what your issue is here with the way that things are managed today at least.

Alan: Thanks very much for the reply.

I was asking about the latter case where elevations along a linestring as I was editing it became a 'jumble' of unreadable text. I don't do it often but was elevating a flowline on a traffic island. As I came around the end and back on the opposite side the text started to overlap and cross over in the middle of the island because the text defaulted to an orientation relative to the linestring. I can zoom out to see it but then it is too wide to see the next step (if that makes sense!).

My thought was that it might be more readable if it oriented to bottom of page and right or "auto-flipped" like alignment labels.

    Make sense?
