TML STATUS ERROR (?)

  • 1.  TML STATUS ERROR (?)

    Posted 05-15-2020 19:40

Getting an error message "NoneType object is not subscriptable" when I launch TML Status.

Clicking OK results in TML status page being blank.

Clicking update says "No TML's to update"

    What's going on?

    Thanks,

    Marshall

TML Status Error Screenshots in the order that they appear.

    After clicking "TML Status"

    After clicking "OK"

    After clicking "Update"

This is my MACRO Tab. Nothing greyed out.

    How to fix?

    Thanks,

    Marshall

You may need to update your TML Status - download and reinstall from www.rockpilesolutions.com

TBC updates will sometimes break TML Status so it cannot run - and it cannot update itself if it cannot run so the only fix is to download again and reinstall - we should try to trap this and then give you a link to download again and install

    Are you running v5.3 TBC?

We can chat tomorrow on this - we know that Trimble changed an API we use

in 5.3 and the updated TML Status is working fine for all of us and many

users - so I am not sure what else to try if you have already updated it -

you could try renaming the Macros folder in \Program Data\Trimble and then

reinstall TML Status and then reinstall all macros to see if something got

    corrupted somewhere.

You have to restart TBC after installing TML Status to make it active and

again after installing all the TMLs

We have had one other reported problem that was fixed by a reinstall of TML

Status - nothing else has come up according to my colleagues

If you are still having issues tomorrow - call me and I will have Peter

call you back to go over it with you

Alan: Yes, 5.3. I updated to 5.3 the day it was released. At that time I checked TMLStatus and did an update. Don’t recall which macros updated but there were just a couple. This problem has happened since then. I generally check the macros every few times I run TBC (of course using TMLStatus).

So today I reinstalled from scratch.

      1.  Ran cleanup utility.

      2.  Reinstalled TBC.

      3.  Renamed MacroCommands folder

      4.  Reinstalled TMLStatus

Exactly the same results. I tried testing before any interface customizations, after customizations, and everything in between. Major difference is that the Macros Tab now shows most TML’s greyed out whereas before none were greyed out.

The only “different” thing I noticed in the whole process was that TBC did not present the message “TBC is running for the first time…”

    I await your expertise.

Can you also try the following

Trimble changed the way that Trimble ID is handled in TBC v5.3 and that may

be causing the issue you are seeing, especially if you restored your

Options.bin file using the Support - Options - Manage Options function.

Go to Support - Options - External Profiles  and delete your Trimble

Connect or Trimble IDs and then close the Profiles and reopen them and

recreate the option for Trimble ID - it may sign you in automatically - if

it does, sign out and then sign in again - that will refresh yourTrimble ID

sign in. Then try TML Status again to see if that clear the issue

Alan: Did exactly that and same result with TMLStatus (“NoneType object is not subscriptable”).

A thought: my Rockpile licenses have expired. Could this be causing the problem?

Is there a log file hidden somewhere that I could send along?

Your Rockpile License only controls the Rockpile TMLs - that has no effect

in TML Status or on Trimble TMLs - they will run no matter what license you

    have.

I am going to get Peter to contact you today - what time best works for

you. Peter is a Night Owl and starts typically mid morning most days. He

can review what you are seeing and try to resolve it with you directly.

Alan: anytime for me today is totally fine as it’s a holiday in Canada. 250-644-2476 is my number.

Thanks for the follow up. Much appreciated.

I am also getting same message this morning.  It was working fine end of last week, I haven't changed anything?
