Problem with Alignments in 3D View

For some reason I'm having issues with alignments not displaying correctly in 3D view after I edit their stationing.  In some instances the alignments are shown shorter or not at all but in all cases everything looks fine until I manually edit the stationing in the alignments editor.  The plan view remains unchanged.   I've tried closing/reloading the 3D view port with no change.

I build my alignments from polylines provided by the project's engineer that I've raised to grade and then, from them, create my alignments.  I like to use 3D view to double check that everything was created properly before sending to the field, but as you can see below editing the station does not allow this.  See before/after below.

The line above is the alignment after it was edited.  It is shown above and down station of the actual location.  The plan view still shows everything to be fine.

Also, the stationing shown on the vertical alignment editor does not match the stationing on the horizontal.  After I edit the horizontal to match the plans, the vertical still starts at 0+00.  I would think they both should sync up; correct?

    Hello Ben,

the chainages of the horizontal and vertical alignment need to match. That usually is no problem if you create the alignment from a string line. But it will become a problem if you change the start chainage in the horizontal alignment.

The HA editor will change the chainages of all following aligment points once you click into the next line.

But, unfortunately it isn't changing the VA accordingly. And changing the VA is painful if you have lots of definition points. Because the VA editor is not updating the following chainages, and there is no right click function either. That's probably because the HA elements are connected to each other and the VA elements don't need to. If there is a gap between the VA definitions the system is interpolating the elevations.

Best practise to change the chainages of a VA was for me so far to start from the back and change them by hand, one by one. At least you can use numerical operations (+-) in that field.

Chainage equation might also work, but I haven't really got a grip on how BC is doing it yet.

A right click option to increment all VA chainages by a certain value would be a good enhancement to the editor.

    Hello Ben,

I just stumbled over a way to move the whole vertical alignment.

TBC, how to change chainages on a vertical aligment?

So I've tried the method you provided but I must be doing something wrong since it is moving my horizontal alignment.  This file allowed me to edit my POB station and all the subsequent stations were adjusted to correspond to the horizontal layout.  However, the problem still remains that the base line used to create the alignment is not matching the constructed alignment (vertical only). I've attached a dropbox link with a dxf copy of my cad linework raised to center line grade and the three .rxl alignment files.  There are two line/alignments that are in perfect sync but Big Trail linework and alignment differ in the 3d view.  I'm not sure how this will effect the stakeout (if at all).

Well I figured out how to view in profile view so I got it selected and shifted over.  Everything looks fine now.  Thanks for the info!
