Yellow Flags in Subgrade Surface

I don't know if anyone else is having issues with this but I seem to be getting yellow flags in my proposed subgrade surfaces at random.  The flags don't follow any proposed linework or grading breaklines and don't show up in my Finished Design surface; only FD with topsoil absent (& subgrades adjusted).  One model shows it is outside my surface boundary where a subgrade surface should not even exist.  See screenshot below.   I need to know if this is going to change my takeoff quantities for earthwork.

I was working on another takeoff a few days ago and it showed up in my subgrade surface in a proposed paving area.  I was able to remove them by removing all my site regions and then putting them all back.  The one I'm working on now has taken a day or so to put in all the site regions so removing them all and putting them back would probably make me blow a gasket.   The model has over 1500 site regions identified.

If anyone has seen something like this and knows it is not going to change my quantities or knows an easy solution, please let me know.  THANKS!

what does the flags pane tell you the errors are?

If they are surface flags caused by crossing breaklines in the model then the errors shoukd be shown in the flags pane. If the errors are small then you should be OK- slice the area and look at the surfaces - that isba good check

They show them as breakline intersections ranging from 0.6' to 0.2'.  The weird thing is that they show them in the FD with topsoil absent (& subgrades adjusted) surface but not in the finished design surface, and I don't have any proposed breaklines in the area.  I think the breaklines are created when I add the site regions.

The surface slicer does not show anything in the area as they are outside my proposed surface boundary.

The differences are small so it probably will not matter too much (if at all).  I'll keep an eye on it.

    Thanks Alan!

When you define Site Regions, we add those as breaklines or drapelines to the surface models that are generated, because the TINs have to be cut along those lines in order to determine the volumes within the site regions. Those lines may cut across the breaklines that run along the edges of subgrade adjustments and the Flags may be occurring where the two cross because the top and bottom of subgrade lines are very close, we may be getting what is termed a Point Tolerance issue - I will run a simple test to see if I can recreate this

    Ben

I tried a simple test and could not recreate - if you could share the model then I can take a deeper look into this to see what is happening in those areas.

    Alan,

See dropbox link below.  I will leave it active for today but let me know if you need more time to download it.  It is a little big (193 Mb).
