Enhancement Request - Vector PDF Line Intersection

When georeferencing a vector PDF, there are many times where the only thing on the plan sheet that I can use as a reference point is a station marker on a horizontal alignment; and very typically the station tick mark extends on both sides of the alignment meaning that the point I need to snap to is the intersection of the alignment and the station tick mark.  Currently it seems the only snappable items at this point in the work flow are line end points.  Is there a way that I am missing to be able to snap to the intersection in the vector PDF file and if not can that please be added to the to do list?

Also when hovering over a spot trying to pick a precise location, the name of the image pops up at the bottom right corner of the cursor making it more difficult to see where the cursor is in relation to the linework on the screen.

Hi Wayne, I feel your pain for both issues. The data tips can be turned off in the Options settings. Just uncheck the box to display data tips if I recall correctly. The other issue I don't know how to remedy so I usually zoom in as far as possible and still be able to see the center of the line. Then I just do a best guess click. Ideally there is something else selectable to use on the vectored PDF drawing but not always. If someone knows how to perform Wayne's request I'd like to know it also.

You can left click and select the insertion point to be "intersection of lines" and it will insert the point on the tic and alignment.lines intersect.

I tested this workflow out and I have logged in a request that it would be good if at least the Right Click Snaps like Middle of Point to Point or XY or DX DY would work when Georeferencing a PDF Image - the challenge is that we only load the Vectors into memory - that likely means we dont have the vectors only the End Points and that is why we show the ends not the lines to snap to, so we may be dependent on Snap Modes that can work with Point locations only - however that would solve the issue that you are raising at least

In the short term if you have the alignments and label them prior to georeferencing images, if you can set your Tick Lengths to be the same as those in the PDF then you could snap to those and do your referencing - a little more risky than using the Intersection agreed, but it would work - failing that you are dependent on "Free Snapping" which is also a little risky or finding some other points that are better defined in CAD and PDF
