Setout of a grid of points, completely arbitrary system...

Hello. Just wondering what would be the best way to setout a grid of points from an engineering drawing (footings for wooden deck) once the location and orientation of the structure is decided insitu. Would just be arbitrary coords assigned to the gridlines and setout points (1000,1000,1000) no requirement to tie into exiting survey network, completely independent. Trimble S6 with tsc3 controller. Cheers!

Is there is survey control?  The deck points have to be tied to the survey control. This would be like staking out a proposed building that isn't positioned relative to property corners.

    Gday Robert,

    see attached.

This structure will occupy a place within a private farm, the position and orientation is yet to be decided on and will have no connection to external control.

Basically I want to peg out the outer footings on grid line ‘C’ (C1 and C10) once location and orientation is agreed on. Once these are finialised, peg out the rest of the footings using the known grid offsets from the drawing.

I have created a DXF of the drawing (A1 is the origin at 1000E, 1000N, 1000Z), I’m just not sure of the procedure to get it from the controller to pegs in the ground!

I was hoping to install some control, maybe off each corner of the design so if a peg is disturbed it will be easy to re stake out.

    cheers,

    Huw
