Drag & Drop to Import Files in TBC v5

Cannot drag & drop to import file into TBC v5.  I can drag a file to the TBC icon and import/open it if TBC is not running; but if there is already a project open I'm unable to drag & drop to import. ???

Steven: I tested and got the same result. If you close the "Start" page then drag 'n drop works. Or, if you start a new default project you can drag and drop and it will open. I think closing the start page is quicker.

If you have an open project in TBC v5 and you have the Plan View Open, are you saying that you cannot drag and drop a file into the Plan View Window?

If there is no project open then you cannot import a file.

Agreed that you cannot drag and drop a file to the start page and have it import - I don't think that is new or a "product issue" is it?

If you are dragging and dropping a VCE File then the same applies - drag into an open project plan view and it will open OK. You can also drag and drop over the Start Page Tab or Plan View Tab (top of the Graphics area) and the VCE file will import.

Let me know what I am missing here

That is correct; If I have a plan view window open I am unable to drag and drop into plan view window.  Gives me the circle with line through it.  BUT without even having TBC open, I can drop a file on the TBC icon on the desktop and it will open in a plan view.

Can you make sure that the Plan View WIndow is Open and is the focus

Window. Also need to check the File type - if all else is correct the File

may be seen as invalid for some reason - but if it is happening for all

files there is something else going on as I dont see that in v5 or v5.01

Are you running TBC as Administer? Windows does not allow drag-drop operations in this case.

Thanks Gary.  That's what was causing the issue.
