Is there a setting on the td520 that changes surface files to 3d files, so that i am able to select strings , or is that an issue with the file loaded to the machine?

    Don't have the option to select 3d line files.

    My guess is that the file loaded to the machine has issues - can you see the linework on screen - if yes then whether it is 2D or 3D you should be able to select it - if you are seeing a lot of Triangles on screen, even though the lines may look like they are there (Triangles show the Linework patterns also as they were formed from the lines most likely)  then it is a File Issue. Failing that I think this is a question for the Machine guys - Assume you are running Earthworks. 

     

    If you want 3D Lines on the Machine then you need to output the Design as 3D Linework from TBC - however if you only need 2D lines for Guidance (Horizontal Only) then you should send them out as a Design Map associated with the 3D Surface to get what you need. It could be as simple as you selected the wrong option - the 3D Linework is typically for Section Lines that you can chase with an Excavator - is that what you are trying to do?

    Hi, yes it's for an excavator,  I assume , like you say , the file was exported incorrectly as there is no strings to select .

    I tried to copy the files from the machine and put them in to TBC to do something with them, but an unable to due to the files being DSZ files .

    You should be able to import a DSZ file - if you cannot - rename the file to .zip, open the file in WinZip and you will find an SVD / SVL file embedded - extract those and import them. If you just rename the file to .zip then drag and drop into TBC that would work also. But dsz files should import - if not can you send the file to me also (alan_sharp@trimble.com) and I can take a look for you to see what is going on.
