Precise corridor earthwork report stationing.

Corridor Earthwork Report has the calculation option to include horizontal and vertical points into the report.  If precise stations of interest are needed they can be added into either alignment body and the needed station is added to the report.

When the report is generated it will then have to be edited to clear the unnecessary data which eats away the clock.

In the Drafting module under Cross-section Locations the option to Use additional locations can be used to add the precise stations desired and can be labeled with cut/fill areas.  This will give the areas at the precise locations desired but again eats the clock when manually keying in data to create the desired corridor earthwork report.

In the Corridor Earthwork Report under Calculation Options.  It would be nice to have another option (Include Drafting Locations)

Please advise if there is another way to achieve the desired report locations.Corridor Earthwork Precise Station Request

The only way that I know how to do this today is as follows

    1. Create a Corridor Boundary that starts at e.g. Station 0 and ends at the "first critical location" e.g. 87.23
    2. Repeat for each section that you require (starting at the first critical location and ending at the next critical station (over and above your interval value e.g. 20'
    3. Run the Corridor Earthwork Report to Excel - select all of your Clipping Boundaries
    4. The report will be multiple Tabs - each Tab will take the name of the Clipping Boundary that you created. Each Tab will start at one Critical Location and end at the next - reporting the Intervals plus the Critical Locations
    5. To aggregate the whole report you will have to Copy and Paste the results into a master sheet in the spreadsheet.

I have logged this issue in my "Corridor Enhancement Requests List" and hope that we will address it at some point in the future - but this at least does give you what you are requesting with limited effort to create the boundaries in order to report those "Critical Stations". I guess it does depend on how many "Critical Locations there are on the project as to how useful this approach will be - understand that it is not ideal solution but it at least works.

Here is one example Tab in Excel where the Clip Boundary starts and ends at a "Critical Location and reports at 20' intervals in between

    Thanks

    Hi Alan

Thanks for sharing your TBC knowledge.

Quick question concerning the precise corridor earthwork report. Have you update the routine to add the critical station locations as describe in you write up and "Corridor Enhancement Requests List"?

    Thanks

    Steve

There is a TML Command called Define Extra Stations that allows you to define extra reporting stations on a HAL that gets picked up by the Corridor Earthwork Report as a reporting Station and the Corridor Cut Sheet Report also

Click here to download the video

Hope this helps Steve - if you need help with the Define Extra Stations TML email me at
