Subgrade Layers in TBC

Look at the segment 17-18. I have given a specific offset of 3.845m and slope 2% to make it terminate at the Finished slope. If I have to add further Embankment layers at say 30 Cm Offsets lower down, I will have to compute the lengths for each segment. This defeats the purpose of the Software itself.

In Terramodel, I  assign a segment length of say 50m and place them inside the Finished surface and the segment terminates at the slope automatically. I did not find TBC behaving as well !!
Do you or some one in Trimble has a trick up his sleeve?

    Hello Saif.

I would go with the instruction "Slope/Slope" instead of "Offset/Slope".

I have enclosed pics to show you how to execute the instruction type.Segment 17Segment 18

After those instructions I would use the "Connect" instruction to tie the Subgrade instructions to the SBDOGL surface, like in the picture below, to get the right amount of fill to subgrade and also to build the subgrade surface from the corridor.

Connect subgrade mtrl layer to OGL

I hope this will help you out Saif

    Kind Regards

Thank you very much. I could repeat it myself.

But, I find that the execution of these commands take a long time. I have

set the Corridor and Original Ground Surface Rebuild properties to " By

    User". Is this OK?

I did not get a separate Subgrade Surface generated automatically. How do I

    generate a new sub surface?

    Thanks again.

    Hello again Saif

Yes of course forgot to mention that, set all the surfaces that are affected by the changes you make in the corridor to ”By user” (I noticed that the rebuild automatic in your project is a time killer).

When put the surfaces in the ”By user” mode you will have to choose the surface in the Project explorer, right click and choose rebuild when you are done and satisfied with your changes. You can also put them back to rebuild automatic whenever you like.

All the subgrades/materials that you create in the corridor (in this case you have only one) won’t be created automatically, to create a corridor surface go to the corridor ribbon and choose the command ”Corridor surface”.

    Cheers mate

Excuse me, if the original ground is higher than the finished surface, do you need to set the instruction for the material layer, half filling and half digging?

Sorry Saif, the command is called ”Create corridor surface” and can also be executed from the Project Explorer if you right click on the corridor. Then choose which material layer you want to create a surface from in the ”dropdown”
